Making qt & kde apps pretty in GNOME

2011.12.28 § 7 Comments

To give qt passable themes/themeing in linux was pretty simple. Instructions are for Linux Mint Debian, Debian Squeeze in my case.

1. Install polymer, qt3-qtconfig, and qt4-

Polymer is an implementation of the standard Plastik KDE theme dependent on naught but squeeze. qtconfig is how we will select it.

2. Boot up qtconfig-qt3 & qtconfig-qt4

3. Set the style to polymer

4. Build Palette: Copy background from qt4 to qt3

5. Tune Palette and hit OK.

This will generate a palette from the background color we set in step 4.
